5.8 Ghz wireless sets can transmit further distances than 2.4 Ghz sets and are designed for open plan usage. The units can still be used with walls / obstacles between transmitter and receiver but obstacbles will reduce distance of signal. Movement can also affect wireless radio frequency signals.

The 5.8 Ghz wireless AV set includes a transmitter and receiver. You can connect any Yellow RCA (Composite video) and Red/White RCA (Stereo Audio) source / player / gaming console to the sender and it will transmit it via wireless 5.8 Ghz to the receiver connected to any display with a Yellow RCA / Composite input. It also functions as a IR Remote Extender to transmit a IR signal from one room to another room when using any type of IR remote e.g for changing DSTV channels, controlling DVD Player etc. from another room.

The IR emitter / receiver functionality has been tested with standard single view DSTV Remotes, various blu-ray remotes and DVD player remotes and working 100%. Due to different frequencies / encryption on HDPVR remotes the HDPVR remote does not function via the IR Emitter / Receiver on this set. For transmitting remote control IR signals to a remote source / player and tested with HDPVR use the IR Wireless Remote Control Extender - Use any IR remote to control equipment up to 30m away
