By default when using the docking station the Ipad will be in Portrait Mode when docked. By using the extension cable at Ipad 1,2 & 3 Male to Female Extension cable the HDMI, VGA or Component video output can be changed to either Portrait or Landscape depending on orientation of the Ipad.
