Guarantee on Returns & Replacements

Products carry the warranties as listed below and will be replaced or refunded based on the conditions below. Since we provide professional specialized products not for DIY in most cases please use an accredited / professional installer for installation of any Electronic Video/Audio Distribution Equipment (Splitters, Extenders, Switches and Converters etc). No faulty or damaged returns will be accepted if damage arises from improper installation and usage. Please consult your display and source / player manufacturer to ensure their products support HDMI Repeater devices (any switch, splitter, extender etc) between source/player and display and whether they can provide a firmware or software upgrade in the case where an incompatibility is experienced. Conditions and exclusions are listed below based on best practices guidelines provided by the Consumer Protection Act and updated accordingly. High quality surge protection plugs must be installed on any HDMI equipment and all equipment connecting to your HDMI network to protect your equipment from electrical spikes and surges.

Warning!!: Never connect and disconnect HDMI cables and equipment while your devices are powered on (hot plugging cables). The hdmi cables carry a low DC voltage while connected. You will damage your equipment and the HDMI Distribution equipment while hot-plugging cables which will not be replaced under the manufacturer guarantee. Power-off all equipment before changing hdmi cables or when installing new HDMI Distribution Equipment. Ensure that cables are gently inserted while changing cables and do not force or twist cables while inserted into the hdmi socket on your LCD or distribution equipment. By twisting cables the 19 pins inside the HDMI cable can overlap and damage equipment hdmi ports. Ensure cables are not hanging from equipment and are neatly fastened using cable ties or any other way to prevent bending / damage on HDMI ports caused by hanging cables.

If we supply the wrong product or if the product is in any way faulty or damaged when delivered or collected, we will exchange it for the correct one after it has been returned. We will make a reasonable effort to exchange the product, but if replacement is not possible e.g. if we are out of stock, we will refund your purchase price or exchange the product when we have received stock. All incorrectly posted products that need to be exchanged or returned must be returned within 14 days after purchase and need to be unopened and unused to be eligible for this refund. Color and shape of a product may not be the same as per picture. Please inquire if a specific color is needed. Specifications of a product are as per product description.

Product Warranties
  • All products carry a 1 year warranty except for the products mentioned below. Any Product returned for a refund must be in the same condition as received / supplied by us. Full packaging and no scratches or any indication of product being used to be eligible for any refund. Any Boxed product needs to be returned with all packaging and new condition to be eligible for a refund. Cables that have been opened and unused will be charged a repackaging fee if not dead on arrival. If dead on arrival this packaging fee will be voided and a full refund will be processed. Any product that has been used or signs of installation on cables will not be refunded since it will be a 2nd hand item not suitable for resale.
  • Rechargeable batteries and chargers (or power supplies) carry a 3 months warranty if operated under normal conditions e.g. no leakages / overcharging of batteries will be exchanged.
  • Crypto Currency Mining equipment due to intensity of use and heating in components that can can occur without the user monitoring these components carry a 3 months warranty if operated under normal conditions e.g. no overheated failed products / physical damage will be exchanged.
  • Due to outdoor installation and products prone to lightning and weather conditions : LNB, Multiswitches, LED Lights and Power supplies, SLx Aerial Splitters and Satellite Dishes will only have a 14 day dead on arrival exchange policy and will not be covered under any warranty due to the nature of installation of products.
  • Media record-able discs and cut-to-length cabling has a dead on arrival warranty since media reliability is dependent on the Blu-ray / DVD writer used for backing up media / power outages and blu-ray writer quality. Cut-to-length cables are provided as per customer request and carries a dead on arrival warranty only and cannot be returned for a refund since cut from bulk rolls according to customer specifications and needs. These products will only be exchanged if a dead on arrival problem
  • Tools and devices prone to wear and tear and physical damage (cutters / testers etc) has a dead on arrival warranty and needs to be returned within 14 days for exchange if faulty. No wear and tear or physical damage will be replaced or repaired on tools and refunds will not be processed if any signs of usage on the tools.
  • For any custom order in bulk or customer specific orders requiring specific colors, molding or customized to customer needs a refund will not be provided since items will be manufactured based on customer requirements and cannot be resold as standard products. If any defect items on the customized order the items will be repaired or replaced as per warranty conditions. Customized orders are non-website stocked items or website items customized according to customer specifications for color, mold, ports etc.
  • Any product replaced or repaired must be collected within 3 months. These products will only be stored for up to 3 months after which is will be discarded to defray storage costs.
Refunds on Courier fees and products returned within 14 days after purchase
  • HDCabling will only be liable for courier fees if the incorrect products have been supplied to a customer or the product is dead on arrival. Courier fees will also be paid by HDCabling to the courier company to ship the incorrect products back to us for replacement with the correct products.
  • We indicate an average / estimated delivery time during checkout which is between 24-72 business hours (95% of orders are delivered within this timeframe) after order dispatched depending on your region for delivery. If you are located in a remote outlined region (Smaller towns and remote areas) as defined by the courier services the delivery time may vary depending on courier logistics.
  • If a customer decides to cancel an order for a refund while in-transit or after delivery, the courier fees cannot be refunded back to the customer since it is a service already paid for to the courier company. Due to customer decision on cancellation in such a case the customer will need to ensure the products are shipped back to us for a refund or we can schedule a courier on customer behalf of which the courier fees will be subtracted from the product refund if a request from customer to return products and not due to a product defect or incorrect product shipped. If cancellation is due to courier delivery timelines a request for re-imbursement of courier fees can be filed by the customer to the courier company. 1-2 days are the average delivery timelines for cities, towns have specific days of courier delivery times. We do not control courier logistics and therefore cannot commit on 1-2 day delivery times and any delays after 3 days will be addressed with the specific courier company if non-delivery has been reported by the customer.
  • Any Refund or Exchange of a product will only be processed after products returned to us and products assessed by us to be in new condition and eligible for a refund. Some products we precheck before courier delivery to ensure all accessories bundled. The product still carries the same warranty even if it is not sealed. Cut-to-length and other cabling products may be shipped without packaging if customized cables.
  • If a customer incorrectly purchased a product and it needs to be refunded it will be handled as per above returns policy and according to CPA best practices. The product needs to be unopened and unused to be eligible for this refund. This needs to be communicated within 14 days to a HDCabling representative. However if advice has been given to a customer via email by a HDCabling representative and the incorrect product has been supplied a full refund will be provided to the customer and courier fees will be refunded to the customer. The items need to be un-opened and unused to be eligible for this refund otherwise it will be refunded based on CPA guidelines and refund policy above.
  • The warranty is not transferable e.g. the original buyer needs to return an item with invoice if assessment needs to be done on the product, otherwise the warranty will be void. If you are purchasing items for resell please ensure that your customer returns the items to you and that you handle the warranty item returns since the invoice will be in the name of the installer / re-seller.
  • In the rare case where incompatibility arises due to customer equipment used and the customer equipment manufacturer cannot provide a firmware upgrade for compatibility we will provide another solution for the installation. The above conditions for refund will apply to the swop-out of items needed on a specific chipset or when a product returned due to incompatibility. Courier and postage fees needs to be paid by the customer for returning products in case of a compatibility problem with their equipment.
  • If a product was purchased online or in-store and paid via card, it will be refunded to the same card and customer must present the same card instore when product returned for a full refund. The Card Merchant does not allow refunds to any other card except the original used for purchase. If the transaction cannot be refunded to the specific card or phone tap virtual card, a handling fee of 5% will be charged on the product refund and an EFT Refund will be done. All other conditions in the T & C’s must be met for a refund to proceed. EFT Payments and Refunds will be refunded via EFT only. Cash payments instore will be refunded by EFT due to cash being stored in a drop-safe and staff does not have access to the drop-safe for cash refunds.
Refunds / Exchanges on products returned after 14 days
  • No credit / cash refunds will be done in any situation after 14 days and products will be replaced / repaired based on the conditions below if the product is defective in any way under the warranty (exclusions listed below).
  • If the returned product is not faulty after testing or returned due to improper installation / incompatibility or operation, it will not be exchanged for a new one and a R 150.00 testing and handling fee may be charged for evaluation of the product. Please check with your source/player and display manufacturer if their product supports HDMI Repeater devices (any switch, splitter, extender etc). If equipment needs to be exchanged it will be exchanged based on conditions listed on this page.
  • In any other situation (e.g. product defective under the warranty and needs to be returned, installation or compatibility problems and swop-out needed etc) the customer will have to pay courier fees for returned products and resend of new products.
  • A local assessment will be done for a non-functioning product returned within the warranty period applicable to the specific product. It will be replaced for a new one based on the conditions listed on this page. If a dispute arises from the assessment done and customer do not agree with assessment done, we can send the equipment to a 3rd party for detailed analysis and testing. The costs for 3rd party testing needs to be paid by the customer and if the case that the 3rd party analysis point to a defect product rather than a damaged product the costs for testing will be refunded to the customer. If a further dispute arises the product will be send back to the manufacturer overseas for a damage report. This may take 8 weeks or more. In the case where the manufacturer does not replace the product under warranty due to any of the conditions on this page, shipping fees will be payable by the customer for the product returned. If there is a service charge payable for replacement, the customer will be liable to pay the service and replacement fee if the repair is not within warranty conditions e.g lighting or electrical surge damage.
Replacements / Refunds will not be issued if damaged due to any of the conditions below
  • Electrical damage / irregular power outages – e.g. Unstable power to equipment (a UPS is highly recommended to minimize problems), Electrical Surges / spikes either from electrical wall socket or HDMI voltage spikes from external sources / displays due to problems on the source / player HDMI port (Surge protection is required to minimize unstable electrical current / surges to your equipment), Damage due to another AC/DC power supply used other than the original supplied AC/DC adapter e.g. if the wattage / voltage is too high from another AC/DC adapter you will damage the equipment.
  • Physical Damage – e.g. dropping equipment, scratching, water damage, opening equipment, pins bended on cables due to incorrect usage or force plugging cables etc.
  • Modification of equipment or tampering with electronic equipment will void the warranty.
  • Damage due to overheating – When overheated due to restricted airflow / improper location installation (in roofs / non ventilated space / cabinets without airflow etc) or exceeded 50 degrees working temperature.
  • Improper installation – e.g. HDMI port damage (caused by hanging cables, hdmi voltage problems, forced-plug HDMI Cables and swopping cables while equipment is powered on). HDMI Port Damage as a result of connected devices causing HDMI damage on a specific port / hot plugging HDMI Cables will not be covered.
  • Lightning damage (Install lighting protectors / arrestors in your electrical circuit board to protect your equipment from lighting strikes, also use a UPS and Surge Protection plugs on all areas where you have equipment).
Returns Procedure

1.) Please send an email to info@hdcabling.co.za with the problem experienced, your name and order number.

2.) We will email you options how to return by courier. If collected from any of our stores, the items need to be returned to the specific store.

3.) We will pay the return and re-sending courier fees if the wrong product has been delivered or if the product is dead on arrival. In any other situation the customer must ensure the products are returned before an exchange or refund can be done i.e. if collected from a specific store it must be returned to the specific store for refund or repair by the customer. Please ensure if collecting your order your items are checked in-store by the person collecting to ensure it is correct. HDCabling will not be liable for return courier fees if an item has been collected by a customer / customer driver or customer courier from any store and items not checked and verified on collection by the person collecting.

4.) Items will be tested within 24-48 business hours after returned and refunded / repaired or exchange processed if warranty under the listed Terms & Conditions.

5.) Courier charges for Re-sending of repaired / exchanged items will be billed to the customer. We will cover re-sending fees only in the cases listed for incorrect product delivered or product dead on arrival.

Since there are several thousands of different HDMI, Optical & Coaxial products on the market we cannot always provide a solution that will work with your current configuration (e.g. HDCP issues when HDMI Distribution Equipment is installed). Currently our products are 99% compliant with common South African brands and models and we have a list of compliant LCDs, Plasmas, Projectors and sources to provide to customers based on previous installations before purchasing. Also consult your display or source manufacturer to ensure that their product will be compatible with the equipment you are purchasing. We have tested our products on several different Digital Receivers, LCDs, Plasmas etc. from different manufacturers and will always do our best effort to provide you with a workable solution from past experiences.

Delivery costs, times and methods

Couriers Fees are indicated on our website during cart checkout and collection from any store does not incur delivery fees. The delivery times as per checkout is average business hours / days for delivery and does not include weekends. If a courier delivers later than the expected date please contact their call center since as we may strive to deliver the best service possible we cannot control courier logistics. We use independent courier services and cannot guarantee delivery times or refund courier charges if courier does not deliver at the expected time. In such a case a complaint has to be logged at the courier call center for refund of courier charges if not delivered within the times specified on the website or as per courier policy on their website.

Exports (Order deliveries not Within South African Regions)

HDCabling will not export any products on behalf of any customers. If a customer delivery address does not reside within South African Borders, the customer must complete the applicable documentation required by SARS Customs & Excise and schedule own courier to collect. An Invoice and Packing list will be provided by HDCabling to the customer and all applicable export procedures and requirements must be fulfilled by the customer. VAT reimbursements due to the customer deciding to export goods purchased, must be filed by the customer at Customs & Excise.

Choosing Delivery Method

****Please make note of the following**** If Delivery Costs differ due to parcel dimensions or incorrect area chosen on cart checkout by the customer and weight of the parcel, costing on the order will be verified. If pricing do differ or the incorrect delivery method chosen e.g Major Cities fees vs smaller Towns courier fees the client will be notified/supplied with the correct amount payable.

Payment Options

Bank Deposits or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Paying by bank deposit or electronic funds transfer (EFT) is easy. Go ahead and place your items in your basket and after Checkout the website administrator will mail you the banking details of the HDCabling account with a pro-forma invoice. Pay your billed amount by making an electronic funds transfer (EFT), or by making a direct deposit into the HDCabling account using your order number as a reference and emailing proof of payment to info@hdcabling.co.za with the order number. Orders placed and not paid within 3 business days will be deleted from the system to allow restock of the quantities in the order.

EFT payments / Cash Deposits and Online Payment Gateways

Instructions will be given during order process on how to do payment for orders into the HDCabling bank account and it would be subject to the following rules:

  • The exact amount must be paid.
  • For EFT Payments – The payment must be identified by the order number and surname in the reference section on the electronic transfer. EFT Payments need to CLEAR in our bank account before dispatch of order.
  • Payments Gateways such as Snapscan and Payfast will do immediate payment clearance on orders.
  • Cheque Deposits are NOT Accepted
  • Cash Deposits must clear the exact same value as per order. If your bank deducts fees for cash deposits and exact value not cleared, the order will not be dispatched.
  • Unpaid orders are cancelled after 2 weeks.
  • Stock is NOT Reserved to an order until payment has been done
Agreements of Sale
  • Due to the same product changing frequently to enhance a product the actual picture & product description displayed may differ from actual product. We ensure that regular updates are done to product pictures & descriptions but delays in updates may cause new imported products to look different and may have additional or changed functionality compared to picture & description on the website. If specific features are required as listed on the website and not available we will provide a full refund of the product purchased.
  • In a rare situation where pricing is displayed incorrectly on a product a customer will be notified of the incorrect pricing after order submitted and we will provide our best and highest discount possible on the product to accommodate the customer on the specific product. The customer is not obliged to continue with the purchase in this case and the order may be cancelled by the customer.
  • Shipping fees are nearly 100% correct based upon weight of products and calculated during cart checkout. In such a case where a small town is not serviced by our courier service we have the right to change the order value to include the difference in courier costs. The customer may change the specific delivery option chosen at any time or cancel the order if courier delivery fees for a specific town are not acceptable if not correctly calculated by the system.
Shopping Basket and Backorders:
  • Constitute an agreement of sale between HDCabling and users cannot hold HDCabling liable if such items are not available when the purchase cycle is completed later; and/or constitute an order for such an item; and
  • HDCabling may remove such an item from the shopping basket if no stock is available or has not been scheduled for import within 2 months. Item stock arrival time will be displayed on individual products and this indicates the estimated delivery date by a forwarding company if item is not in stock and backorders allowed on the product. Orders can be placed for these items and they will be dispatched as soon as the stock arrives. The buyer will be notified when placing the order of the expected delivery date for the specific products in the order.
An agreement of sale between HDCabling and a user only comes into effect if and when:
  • A payment of an electronic transfer is reflected on HDCabling bank statement. NO Orders may be collected if the payment has not CLEARED in our bank account or confirmed via one of the online payment methods.
  • Cash deposits on orders if the amount is not exact same, will not be dispatched if the bank takes commission and value of order vs value banked is not the same.
  • HDCabling reserves the right to refuse to accept and/or execute an order without giving any reasons. HDCabling also reserves the right to cancel orders in whole or in part as circumstances dictate. HDCabling shall only be liable to refund monies already paid by the customer which have CLEARED in our bank account. HDCabling shall take all reasonable efforts to maintain correct prices. However, should errors occur and items are offered at incorrect prices, HDCabling will not be obliged to sell goods at such incorrect prices and shall only be liable to refund monies paid. If a customer placed an order and requested out of stock items to be purchased on request, the customer will be liable for the amount payable on the order generated and amount due on invoice generated by the system.
Stock Availability

Stocks of all goods on offer are limited and the online store does not integrate with instore systems. HDCabling shall take all reasonable efforts to discontinue the offer as soon as stock is no longer available or list the product out of stock. However, should items still be offered after stocks are sold, HDCabling shall only be liable to refund monies where it is unable to fulfill orders at advertised prices.

Privacy and Security

Your information is always confidential. HDCabling is a safe and secure website and is legally committed to protect all your transactions and information. Your information will NEVER be disclosed to any third parties, unless obliged to do so by law.


Apart from the provisions of sections 43(5) and 43(6) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, neither HDCabling nor any of its agents or representatives shall be liable for any damage, loss or liability of whatsoever nature arising from the use or inability to use this web site or the services or content provided from and through this web site.
