Dual Slot M.2 PCIE 4x Adapter Card | NVME + SATA M.2 Slots | GEN 1 – GEN5 M.2 Supported
The M.2 NVMe + M.2 SATA SSD PCIe x4 Adapter is a unique product with 2 very different M.2 Slots. One slot is used for SATA NGFF M.2 Drives (B-Key) and the other for NVME M.2 Drives (M-Key) Gen 1 – Gen 5. It can offer the fastest boot or data access through the NVMe SSD and at the same time provide very fast storage through the M.2 SATA SSD Interface.
It provides PCIe 4 lanes of data path (64Gbps / 8 GB/s Max) straight to the NVMe SSD resulting in super-fast data transfer and another M.2 interface for your M.2 SATA SSD. This adapter allows for flexible installation of an M.2 (NGFF) of different size like 42, 60, or 80mm in length with varying capacity. This M.2 adapter will give you the best performance possible for your system.
Description:
- 2-in-1 M.2 SSD Adapter: It allows you to install one M.2 NVMe SSD and one M.2 SATA SSD on your computer. The M.2 NVMe SSD is installed in the lower slot (M Key), while the M.2 SATA SSD is installed in the upper slot (B Key).
- The NVMe SSD signals go directly to the PCIe X4 interface, while the SATA SSD signals go to the SATA III interface, which needs to be connected to the motherboard’s SATA interface via a SATA cable (included). These are two completely independent data channels.
- It is FCC and CE certified, ensuring highly reliable and stable PCIe X4 full speed. M.2 Drive Speed is mostly dependent on the M.2 SSD itself and will not exceed PCIE 4x Speeds easily.
- To reach PCIe 4.0 X4 (64Gbps) full speed, the CPU and motherboard PCIe slot and M.2 NVMe SSD should all be PCIe 4.0 (Note: PCIe 4.0 is not supported on Intel CPUs below 11th generation)
- Support OS booting from the M.2 NVMe SSD. Please reinstall OS and set up BIOS/UEFI boot from this M.2 NVMe SSD. (Note: Some motherboards are too old to support OS booting. In this case, M.2 NVMe SSDs can be used as storage disks)
- OS compatibility: Plug-and-play in Windows 11/10/8/Linux/Mac OS (Note: Windows 7 supports M.2 SATA SSD, but no M.2 NVMe SSD). The new M.2 NVMe SSD needs to be initialized and formatted before it can be recognized by the computer host.
Design for One M.2 NVMe SSD and One M.2 SATA SSD
- Please note that the upper slot is only used for M.2 SATA SSD, and the lower slot is only used for M.2 NVMe SSD. You cannot add 2 x NVMe SSD or 2 x M.2 SATA SSD to this card.
- M.2 SATA signal and M.2 NVMe signal are totally separate.
- M.2 SATA signal goes through SATA bus, SATA cable needs to connect the adapter SATA port with the motherboard SATA port
- M.2 NVMe signal goes directly through the PCIe bus, which is the motherboard PCI-Express X4 interface
Difference between M.2 SATA SSD and M.2 NVMe SSD
- B-Key: almost M.2 SATA SSDs and older NGFF SSDs
- M+B Key: M.2 SATA SSDs and some NVMe SSDs
- M Key: M.2 NVMe SSDs using the PCIe x4 bus
Max speed between M.2 SATA SSD and M.2 NVMe SSD
- The max speed of M.2 SATA SSD is 400-550Mbps
- The max speed of M.2 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVMe SSD is 2000-3300Mbps
- The max speed of M.2 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVMe SSD is 4000-6700Mbps
For the NVMe boot drive, you need to reinstall the OS (windows 10 64bit/Windows 11 is recommended).
- First, you need to prepare a bootable USB drive and OS (windows 10 64bit/Windows 11).
- When reinstalling the system, please select GUID Partition Table (GPT).
- OS will reboot after completing the installation, remove the bootable USB drive, and enter BIOS to setup UEFI boot mode
For NVMe storage drive, Plug and play in Windows 11/10/8/Linux/Mac OS
- Windows 7 can not support NVMe drive
- Brand new NVMe drive needs to be initialized and formatted before OS recognizes it.
